Establishing the European information technology centre in Tallinn

“The headquarters of the European IT Agency being constructed alongside the Seaplane Harbour and its hangars is planned to be a striking, energy-efficient building meeting high security standards. The exciting design of the building brings clear, calm forms to the centre of the new developments surrounding it with their varied appearances. Its angular silhouette, which will make it very recognisable when viewed from the water, will have a balancing effect against the round lines of the neighbouring seaplane hangars. The exterior will comprise sun screening panels covering the glass façade. These will contribute to the building’s energy efficiency on the one hand while on the other concealing as much as possible of what goes on in the building. The composition was designed to have a monumental effect, since the building in question will serve an agency that is not only important to Estonia, but to the whole of the European Union.”
