RMK office building in Tartu

ESPLAN and RMK share a long-standing partnership, and this is already the second office building we have designed for the same client.

The new RMK Tartu office building is located at the center of the Tartu County Forest District, adjacent to the RMK tree nursery. The client’s goal was to consolidate employees from two separate buildings into one modern, energy-efficient workspace that aligns with RMK’s core activities. This meant an emphasis on the extensive use and display of timber as the primary building material.

The result is an innovative architectural solution, constructed entirely from locally sourced wood, making it one of the most environmentally friendly office buildings in Estonia. The building features a fully timber structure based on CLT (cross-laminated timber) technology, and is equipped with a rooftop solar power station. It has been designed to meet the highest energy efficiency standard – Class A.
