Ülemiste Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in the Baltics, is planning to expand its footprint by nearly 50% by the year 2030. Newly developed visualizations for the detailed spatial plan — never before shown publicly — reveal the envisioned extension, which is expected to be constructed within the coming years.
ESPLAN is proud to be part of this ambitious development as the author of the architectural concept design for the new extension. Our team has crafted a cohesive and contemporary architectural vision that integrates functionality, aesthetic quality, and sustainability.
Key features of the expansion include a new main entrance, a 12-storey multifunctional building, underground parking levels, and an inviting new entrance facing the European Park — all of which will elevate the centre’s public presence and urban character.
The project also introduces a green roof and landscaped public areas designed to create an enjoyable and multifunctional outdoor environment for visitors.
ESPLAN’s architectural concept goes beyond simply adding commercial and service spaces — it aims to connect Ülemiste Centre more closely with the Rail Baltica Ülemiste terminal and Ülemiste City, establishing stronger physical and functional links within the district.
Our goal is to help create an environment that supports the area’s growth while offering a pleasant and well-functioning experience for visitors and the surrounding community.
We are honoured to contribute to this landmark project, which will further establish Ülemiste Centre as a vital hub within Tallinn’s urban fabric and the wider region’s infrastructure.
