Blending architecture with nature in Valgesoo bog.

The Valgesoo Observation Tower is located within the Valgesoo Landscape Protection Area and forms part of the Valgesoo hiking trail. Estonia’s pristine natural environment posed high demands on the architect to achieve harmony between the design and its surroundings. The result is a piece of architecture that embodies Scandinavian elegance, highlighting a symbiosis between nature and geometric form.

Functionally, the tower supports nature education programs and serves as an ideal birdwatching platform.

The new tower’s load-bearing structure is made of durable steel, with a total structural weight of approximately 35 tonnes. To enhance the tower’s slender and expressive appearance, wooden façade elements were designed and attached directly to the steel framework. With a total height of 30 meters, the Valgesoo tower ranks among the tallest observation towers in Estonia.
