The goal of the project was to provide all primary healthcare services within a modern infrastructure.
At the end of 2021, a new health centre will be completed at Sõle 63, replacing the former Kopli Polyclinic. The facility will be named the North Tallinn Health Centre, in reference to the district it serves.
With the establishment of the new centre, the objective of West Tallinn Central Hospital (AS Lääne-Tallinna Keskhaigla) is to create modern and compliant conditions for delivering primary healthcare services, primarily for the residents of North Tallinn, but also for patients from the Kopli and Pelgulinn areas.
The planned health centre will accommodate family doctor and nurse offices, as well as facilities for physiotherapists and midwives. Additional spaces are being built for mental health counselling and psychiatric nursing, dental care, optometry, a pharmacy, orthopaedic aid services, and specialist outpatient care.
The centre will also feature facilities for X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics, as well as spaces for laboratory testing and sample collection.
The goal is to offer comprehensive primary healthcare services under one roof, supported by a modern and efficient infrastructure. Plans also include space for a flower shop and a café, enhancing the centre’s accessibility and convenience.
As a result of the project, the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in North Tallinn will improve significantly. The demolition of the outdated Kopli Polyclinic and construction of the new facility will also lead to substantial savings in energy and maintenance costs, while enabling more patient-centred care in a purpose-built, modern environment.
