A community cultural hub open to all walks of life.
The Viimsi School for Young Talents functions as a kind of cultural centre for the entire Viimsi municipality — a space open to everyone and everything. A large concert hall, a chamber hall, and facilities for music, art, science, and extracurricular education come together to form an environment that supports a wide range of cultural and leisure activities.
Located on the border between forest and limestone cliff, the building is conceived as both a filter and a mirror between culture and nature. That is why we call it METSAKUMA — the House of Arts, the House of Culture. The School for Young Talents radiates light, colour, and sound, bringing together the arts and the sciences in a unified educational and cultural setting.
The building opens toward the road with a public square, welcoming all, and integrates the roadside area with the adjacent nature trail and forest edge. By distributing its functions across different volumes, the building encourages greater movement into the surrounding natural landscape and fosters closer social interaction among its users.
