A Remarkable Project in the Making: Kuressaare Hospital Extension
ESPLAN is proud to be working on an exceptionally exciting project — the extension of Kuressaare Hospital.
Our competition entry, MATRIITS, tied for first place in the Kuressaare Hospital façade and outdoor area design competition alongside ROHEKILD by Sirkel & Mall.
According to the decision-makers at the Kuressaare Hospital Foundation, ESPLAN’s proposal was ultimately selected for its feasibility, stronger integration between the existing and new hospital wings, alignment with hospital functionality, and a more context-sensitive exterior appearance — particularly within the narrow and tranquil residential street where the new extension will be located.
This project holds a special place in ESPLAN’s architectural and engineering portfolio. It gives us a meaningful opportunity to contribute—modestly but purposefully—to improving the conditions of medical services that impact the lives of so many.
