Vindi Kindergarten

Location: Tallinn, Vindi tn. 3
Gross area: 4466 m2
Architect
Karina Mamontova

This is the design of a new kindergarten building.
The Client of the building is the Tallinn City Government.

The property of the planned kindergarten is located in the Kristiine district and is a land of urban public buildings bordering the relatively little-used Vindi Street

The planned kindergarten is a two-storey building with an underground floor and a flat roof, and in the same project there are also solutions for the erection of two auxiliary buildings: a landfill and an outdoor stage with storage space.
The public spaces of the building are designed according to the requirements of the disabled.

The aim of the project was to achieve energy efficiency class A.

The building is visually divided into sections of different heights.
The group rooms and their entrances are located in the two-storey south-eastern part of the building.
Cabinets, kitchen and hall are located in the north-western part of the building.

The articulations of the building allow it to be adapted to the surrounding environment and landscape.
The courtyard side of the building has large terraces and balconies, which are used as courtyard pavilions and is covered by an awning. The canopy also shades from the summer sun.

Technical and auxiliary rooms on the ground floor.

The main entrance to the building is located in the northwest, but each group has its own entrance from the courtyard.
